8 1/2 and 90 1/2

Kaela has a very special Christmas Day birthday. She loves sharing her birthday with Jesus! Since Christmas time is so busy, (just read our previous December blog post to see exactly how busy we are!) we have a small family celebration on December 25. Then we have the big party on her half-birthday on June 25. That makes adding the "half" to how old she is, very important!

Kaela said what she really wanted was a REAL pedicure at a REAL salon. Lucky for us, Auntie Erin does just that! She felt very pampered and very grown up (and even read Family Circle magazine).

Only an 8 1/2 year old can get away with toes like that!

Kaela had her birthday party at the park where everyone could play and have fun. Instead of a cake, Kaela wanted to have a cookie decorating station. The kids decorated their cookies with frosting, sprinkles, M&Ms, mints, chocolates, gel writing....plenty of sugar for all! And if that wasn't enough, they had orange soda and orange creamsicles too!

This is the tummy-full-of-cookie pleasant expression.

Then a few weeks later, we celebrated GG's 90th birthday. Her birthday is January 8, and we had a smaller family party at that time. ("Small" is relative when there's 35 people just in the immediate family!) Then we had another party in the summer so the out of town relatives could come. GG did say "if Kaela can have a half birthday, then I can too!" If you missed it before, be sure to read about Jill's Grandma from a previous post. In true Grandma fashion, she ruled the roost about every decision for the party, and had a great time visiting with friends and family.

The Williams clan (with our $3 Walmart flag shirts).

Jill's family (minus four kids and one brother....plus one baby-to-be).
